Carantan Brace e Cultura

A simple and quiet place, with roots in more than 60 years of history. Originally born as a 'frasca' in the fifties on the road to Austria, it then became a tavern in the 80s and, since 1995, has assumed its current character as a trattoria.

Since 2015, it has been "Il Carantan Brace e Cultura", featuring a menu inspired by local traditions and a selection of the world's best meats, wood-grilled.

Carantan Ristorante

The name "Carantan" originates from a copper coin used in Old Carinthia. In Italy, during the late nineteenth century, this name was adopted for the coin worth a hundredth of a Lira. Later, in the Friulian dialect, the term came to refer to something "modest" and "of little value"

Located in the countryside, within the unique "Magredi" area, our restaurant offers two distinct rooms: a smaller, private, and intimate one, and a larger space, ideal for events and ceremonies, or dinners with friends. The larger room features expansive windows that offer stunning views of the vineyards. It's a perfect location for a tranquil evening, where guests can indulge in traditional cuisine that embodies both quality and simplicity.

Our dishes are based on traditional and local recipes, with each ingredient carefully selected to offer you a simple yet refined cuisine that maintains the natural flavors and qualities of the food.

Among our starters, we recommend trying the trio of Patanegra lard with honey and chestnuts, smoked goose breast with warm crostini, soft polenta with mushrooms and salty cheese, or Prosciutto d'Aviano with Parmigiano Reggiano.

Our homemade first courses vary with the seasons, ranging from stuffed pasta to risottos.
